Excellent gazette facts-at-a-glance May 19, 2007 There are plenty of atlases on the market, but what makes FIREFLY ATLAS OF NORTH AMERICA: UNITED STATES, CANADA & MEXICO stand out from the crowd is the focus on large-scale maps with excellent cartography by Philip's which displays all major physical features, over forty larger-scale maps for each country's most developed urban areas, and an index of some 40,000 place names which includes latitude and cross-referenced grids for quick location. Add excellent gazette facts-at-a-glance perfect for high school and public library reference holdings and you have a reference sure to be a popular and lasting acquisition.

Pretty good for the price Jan 05, 2007 This atlas seems designed for school use. It does not have the level of detail I would expect in a top level atlas, but it's over $100 less than the great atlases. I bought it to have one that is extremely current - it does meet that criteria. It's very nice for a general overview atlas. For extreme detail, I still like the Rand-McNally Business Atlas best, that I can always find at my local library.
