 South Pagatagonia Icefield Map far better Feb 19, 2008
This map was very disappointing. It only includes the area north and west of Chalten to just west of the major peaks. We're planning on doing a circuit from Paso Marconi to Paso del Viento and this map doesn't show any of the area. Also the trekking route to L Toro is not included on the map. This map is only printed on one side so its kind of a waste of paper Far better is the South Patagonia Icefield Map which contains 6 times as much information in the same amount of space and the same scale.
 Great map if you want to do more than "the standard" Feb 19, 2008
This is a great map, especially if you want to do more than the "standard" trekking routes. Its goes as far north as Lago O' Higgins (includes Lago del Desierto), south to the north shore of Lago Viedma, west onto the South Patagonia Icefield (well past the Ar/Ch border) and east to Chalten. We're planning on a trip onto the icefield from Paso Marconi to Paso del Viento and the area is well marked. The Monte Fitz Roy & Cerro Torre map from the same company doesn't include any of this area, so if you want to do more than hike to L Torre or C Poincenot, get this map instead. 50 m contour intervals, 1:50000 scale. I gave it 4/5 stars b/c trail distances are in hours or fractions of a day, not miles or kilometers
